The 45 year old actor, who will be seen in Rohit Shetty ‘Singham Returns’ which will hit the floor on 15 August is now in news to play king Ashoka in Indo-French project.
A leading daily reported that actor Ajay Devgn has been roped in by a well-known production house for playing king Ashoka, with makers hunting for an international face to play the female lead.
However, Shah Rukh Khan had played the emperor in a 2001 film titled `Asoka`, which was directed by Santosh Sivan and had Kareena Kapoor Khan in a lead role opposite SRK.
The question raises here that who will be in lead role opposite Ajay Devgan in this movie. Another Indian connect in this Indo-French venture is the director, who will be helming the project. The name that has cropped up is that of veteran filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi.
